Rock-Ola Model 1426 All Original/Unrestored This is an all original unrestored, legendary Rock-Ola Model 1426. It has been in my family for approximately 30 years. In that time we have had absolutely no work done to the machine. My father purchased it when he was out west and it was shipped to the east coast. He reportedly purchased it from a dealer in Nevada who had just purchased it directly from an old candy store and it has been in our possession ever since. Not only is this jukebox a beautiful piece of furniture and coversation piece to adorn your living room, den or game room, (we had it residing in our library) it is a living breathing work of art and a slice of Americana not to mention a solid investment.Overall the jukebox is in remarkable condition for its age unlike most jukeboxes you come across of this era. The wood veneer is exceptional in my opinion. It is in great working condition and below I will point out all known issues. The pictures truly speak for themselves. It is in need of a good cleaning and polishing. If one was so inclined, it would not take much at all to bring this up to truly pristine condition. Rarely do you come across a jukebox that is all original, unrestored and in this condition. If you have been searching for a nice example than you know what I mean. Typically you find them completely restored in practically brand new condition or basket cases that require you to dump thousands of dollars of restoration into them. A Rock-Ola like this one is hard to come by and is perfect for the true collector and investor alike.All known issues cosmetic or otherwise:1.The front grill, particularly the very bottom section, has pitting and corrosion. (please refer to photos)2.The only problem area on the wood veneer is a small crack measuring about an inch at the bottom right rear side of the machine. It is so small that I was not able to take a close enough photo that showed the problem.3.The arm mechanism needs to be adjusted. When you play a record you have to manually hit the reject button.4.T is slight pitting and t on the chrome. (please refer to photos)5.The right flourescent column light sometimes blinks on and off.6.The plug could use re-splicing in my opinion. Right now it is a little loose and wrapped in electrical tape.7.Paint has partially come off the top of the record stack mechanism due to age.I strongly considered addressing the above mechanical issues prior to selling (especially being so minor) but ultimately decided that not knowing a qualified technician it was best left up to the new owner.The plastic colored rotating column both turn and are in excellent condition. The machine, other than issue #3 works beautifully and sounds great. I am not a jukebox dealer nor have I ever heard another 1426 for comparison purposes. The amplifier and all internal mechanisms to best of my knowledge are all original and in perfect working condition.Due to the age of the jukebox and not being a expert or dealer of jukeboxes by any means, this being sold as is.NO SHIPPING PICK UP ONLYIf you wish to arrange a shipping company to pick it up thats entirely up to you.If you are relatively local enough you may arrange to come look at it.As soon as the shippers touch it, it is your responsibility if something occurs to it during shipping or loading.I require payment within 72 hours of auction close.Non USA buyers - I require a bank check overnighted.I have done my absolute best to describe and photograph this jukebox as accurately as possible.
