Up for auction is my vintage Gibson Les Paul Jr. I have owned this guitar for 34 yrs. My father bought this guitar for me from Fred Walicki at West LA musicin 1976. This guitar plays and sounds awesome. For the collector, it is hard for me to date, as I can not find the serial numbers that should be on the headstock. I had a fret job completed some years ago by Jim Kaufman in LA who told me at the time that he believes this to be a prototype from 1953ish based on the markings on the underside of the "dog eared P-90 pickup." This guitar has been repaired (from before I owned it) where the headstock cracked. It was repaired before I got the guitar and is very stable and smooth. The tuning machines were also replaced with Schallers that were not an original style replacement. I never replaced the tuners as they have always been smooth and hold tuning perfectly. I did however add the "tunamatic" bridge for perfect intonation adjustments. This is a great guitar for the player, now! or the collector that wants a restoration project and it comes with a SKB molded hard shell case. Original Les Paul Jr's can get extremely pricey as the legendary tone and feel of these guitars is unparalleled. This is a great chance to get a piece of history at a reasonable price..
