I have tried to sell the plate alone and no one would buy it, so i am adding the corresponding book to the package. This "coffee table" size book (12" x 8 1/2") has 157 pages and shows all of Norman Rockwells classic scout paintings and gives the story behind each one. It is fascinating reading. The listing pictures show the book with the dust cover and without and the title page of the book which shows the painting of the plate that comes along with the book. The book and all of its pages are in great shape with the only flaw being the handwritten note inside the front cover from son to father as a gift on Father's Day in 1978. I will also include a newspaper article on the death of Norman Rockwell. The 10 1/2 inch plate with gold trim has been on display but is in really good condition. The painting from the 1969 calendar depicts Norman Rockwell himself at his easel, surrounded by scouts, painting one of his scouting masterpieces. This painting was in commeration of Rockwell's 75th birthday. It was owned by my father, a Silver Beaver from the Northwest. He has passed away and we are selling his collections to get some money to help Mom. My lously photography does not do it justice. A nice addition to any Norman Rockwell collection. The back of the plate reads: Norman Rockwell, "Beyond the Easel", Boy Scouts of America Calendar-1969, from the series "Scouting through the eyes of Norman Rockwell", Gorham Fine China, Produced from art from the archives of Brown & Bigelow, Inc. and by permission of the Boy Scouts of America", Limited edition 17,500, Plate Number 1089.
