The owner was a collector who ran trains only a few times. Purchased in Switzerland in 1994.The engine is in the original box, with the original paperwork. Train was kept in a dry, smoke-free home. HO Model of the Swiss Federal Railways Electric Locomotive Ee 3/3 Engine, marked SBB CFF FFS. Shunter, Class Ee 3/3 of the SBB, wheel arrangement 0-6-0.Between 1923 and 1971 the SBB acquired 163 shunters of this class. They were used for average load shunting service in large station areas. They were meant to operate forward and reverse, so all the details are on both ends. All of the original engines were still in use in Zurich, Rorschach, Bern, Basel, Olten and Lucerne when these models were made. This model is in an eye-catching red, with overhead wire capability. They were designed to run on current from the wheels as well. Instructions tell you how to convert from one to the other. The details are superb, with wind shield wipers on the windows on both ends, and written details too small for my magnifier!
