Over-the-top antique silverplate muffin server "Muffineer", egg-shaped and with figural boar's heads on the knees and acorn and oak leaf feet (see pics). Possibly a Hunt Breakfast Piece (the boar's heads). No maker's mark or country of origin mark on careful inspection. I'm unsure of the maker, but it is probably English based on the aesthetic, possibly Continental Europe, German or French. Absence of a country or origin mark indicates it was made before 1890, and I would date it to the late 19th century Victorian Rococo Revival period, ca. 1860 - 1880. Unconditionally guaranteed authentic and old and your money (less shipping) cheerfully refunded with *no questions asked* if you buy it and don't agree that it is antique after you see it in person, but the pics really leave no doubt and you aren't going to be disappointed. SIZE: A large piece, about 14" wide across the handles and 10" tall; it is a large serving piece. CONDITION REPORT: T is overall light **puckering** (small bubbles) to the silver surface on the lid. It detracts only slightly (see pics), but it **is** t and it **does** detract slightly and you do need to be aware of it. Bolt is missing from one of the screw joints that attach the lid to the base. Base and lid still attach fine, tightly and securely, but the screw is just slightly crooked without the bolt. See pic #4 of the missing part and pic #5 shows how the screw looks screwed in without the bolt. Other than this, no problems found on very careful and honest inspection. Retains both its inserts, as shown, which is fairly unusual and a nice bonus. T is age discoloration to the thumb grip (probably bone; it has the characteristic black lines we associate with bone and on careful examination with a loupe in strong light I don't believe it is ivory), which is very minor but mentioned for completeness. NO RESERVE and a nominal start and the pics tell the rest of the story; a gorgeous piece of antique silverplate for your sideboard or for impressive table serving and a very nice eBay opportunity. Authenticity, age, and condition are unconditionally guaranteed in writing and your money (less shipping) cheerfully refunded with *no questions asked* if you buy it and don't agree after you see it in person, but I really think the winner is going to be very pleased with this piece. Please check my other auctions for more intersting and luxe items from old Dallas estates, almost everything at NO RESERVE and starting under $10; I'm happy to combine shipping.
