This is the original first pressing from 1974 on the German SELECTEDSOUNDS library label.ORF is the abreviation for “Austrian Radio”,this bigband also played on the legendary Johannes Fehring & the Chicks recording or on Marianne Mendt’s”Wie A Glock’n”.Tight drumming by Erich Bachtraegl,Harry Pepl plays some awesome Wah-Wah- and fuzz-guitars(“Kingsize”&”Operation Rose”),Fritz Pauer is heard on piano, rhodes(“Good Old Sherlock”) & organ(“Jimmy The Cat”),there’s a great unknown vibra- and marimbaphone-player,trumpet solos(on “Smart” muted!) are by Art Farmer... Contains some of the funkiest Kovac-tracks ever!
