Title: Roland Kovac & the ORF Big Band - King Size This is the original first pressing from 1974 on the German SELECTEDSOUNDS library label.ORF is the abreviation for “Austrian Radio”,this bigband also played on the legendary Johannes Fehring & the Chicks recording or on Marianne Mendt’s”Wie A Glock’n”.Tight drumming by Erich Bachtraegl,Harry Pepl plays some awesome Wah-Wah- and fuzz-guitars(“Kingsize”&”Operation Rose”),Fritz Pauer is heard on piano,rhodes(“Good Old Sherlock”) & organ(“Jimmy The Cat”),there’s a great unknown vibra- and marimbaphone-player,trumpet solos(on “Smart” muted!) are by Art Farmer... Contains some of the funkiest Kovac-tracks ever! Condition: the A-side has a few tiny papersleevelines,only to be seen under a real strong light,non-feelable and non-sounding,the B-side looks mint-.Both sides play in mint- all of the time.The cover shows just a hint of slightest shelfwear,mint-/ex+++. Grading: this used record has been cleaned on a prof. cleaning machine.After that I playgraded it on a Rega Planar 9 with a Rega Super Elys moving magnet system and I also visually graded the record under a strong light.I give you a detailed description of both gradings.
