The featured Native American believed to be an aggregate of three chiefs from differing tribes: Two Moons of the Cheyenne, Big Tree of the Kiowa and Iron Tail of the Lakota Sioux. LIBERTY is inscribed. Black Diamond, a 1,550 pound bison, graces the center of the reverse. Fraser sketched the buffalo at the Central Park Zoo, where Black Diamond was known to woo crowds every day.
