ROLLING STONES 'FORTY LICKS' ALBUM RELEASE - 2002. A RARE, ORIGINAL VIRGIN/ DECCA RECORD COMPANY PROMOTIONAL POSTER. Featuring John Pasche's iconic tongue design, probably the most famous logo in popular music. In 1970 he got paid around £50 for his efforts, and an extra £200 from the band two years later, as a 'thank you' for its success. In 2008, Pasche's original hand painted artwork sold for over $50,000 at auction ! Originally, these special display posters were only made available to record company promotions staff and reps, for instore displays only. Only short print runs were made, a few weeks before the official release date. Usually displayed for a few weeks before being ripped down to make room for the next promotion. A rare, UNUSED original collectors item, ideal for framing. Condition: Excellent+/near mint. Unused, undamaged, barely any handling. Superb quality. Size: 76cm x 51cm (30in x 20in) This is a genuine promotional item, NOT A COPY or reprint. Photo is of actual item.
