We are offering here a quite unique bronze ring discovered at a dig-site outside of Rome and dated Ca. 200 AD. The ring has a plain band and a round shield. The shield is embossed with small bronze dots. The item has been partially cleaned and is in excellent condition.
Roman bronze articles such as rings, fibulae and buckles are often found at ancient battle sites. Some believe that Roman soldiers buried their valuable possessions before going into battle. Other simply look upon these finds as the natural result of losses during a fight. Whatever the case, collectors are fortunate to be able to acquire so many different bronze items at relatively reasonable costs. A Certificate of Authenticity is included and shipping to a U.S. addres is always free. Please add $10.00 for other destinations.
