ROMAN BRONZE RING

This is a delicate and quite attractive bronze ring discovered at a dig-site near Rome and dated Ca. 200 AD. The ring is a size 4 1/4 with a plain band and a very small shield. The shield has a setting for the placement of a tiny gemstone or piece of glass. This ring has been partially cleaned and is in excellent condition.
Roman bronze articles such as rings, buckles and fibulae are frequently found at ancient battle sites. Some believe that Roman soldiers would bury their valuable possessions before going into battle. Others look upon these discoveries as simply the result of natural losses during a fight. Whatever the reason, collectors are fortunate to be able to acquire so many different bronze items at relatively reasonable costs. A Certificate of Authenticity is included and shipping to a U.S. address is always free. Please add $8.00 for other destinations. Should this ring or any item sold by PASSAGE TO ANTIQUITY ever be shown to be other than as described we will gladly refund the full purchase price.
