Officium Hebdomade Sanctae Secundum Missal & Breviarium Romanum PUBLISHED: Antwerp: Ex Officina Plantiniana, 1626. DESCRIPTION: 16mo, measuring approximately 4.5 by 2.5 inches, 408pp. + 15pp. + (4) blank leaves. The text is in Latin, printed in red & black and accompanied by numerous engravings and woodcut initials. T is a section of neumatic notation, HAND-WRITTEN, consisting of fifteen leaves, printed on both sides. The book is bound in contemporary full leather with four raised bands, gilt title and decorations to spine, gilt borders to both boards, and two metal clasps. All edges gilt, with lovely purple, red & white patterned endpapers. In very good overall condition. Binding is sturdy and square; boards are firmly attached with no splitting or cracking to joints. Contents are for the most part quite clean and bright. T are several small ink stamps to preliminary pages; the title page shows a bit of wear, as you can see in the photos. Otherwise, the text itself is in very nice shape with only occasional, isolated, foxing or tanning. All in all, a beautiful little copy of an exceedingly scarce book.
