******* WELCOME ******* ****** UNITED KINGDOM AUCTION ****** ROMAN HELMET - CAPTAIN OF THE GUARD A wonderful helmet completerly hand stitched, made of thick hide brown leather with metal hand sewn decoration, has bristle plume and is lined with soft brown suede leather. Has a paper "Captain" sticker to the inside. Exceedingly good workmanship as can be seen, is strong and rigid.I have suggested Roman as the shape looks similar, obviously a vintage film prop. I have tried to research the helmet but have had difficulty trying to find the film it originated from, perhaps some film buff out t will know. In good condition with no damage, made to look aged as seen in the pictures.Measures 21" (53.5cm) in length and measured on the inside of the base rim 27" (69.5cm)Weight 1kg unpackedA wonderful display item and talking point over the Christmas Period.
