Ron HubbardAn original press kit for the first softcover edition of Battlefield Earth published by Hubbard's Bridge Publication's house.Comprised of an illustrated folder featuring the first state "correct" Jonnie Goodboy Tyler image and 6 seperate inserts (one single sheet, the others multiple stapled sheets) all apparently centered on the sound track for the movie version.Folder measures 12 x 9 inches.Folder and contents in about very good overall condition with staple on top of front cover and short tear on side - no owner marking, NOT EX-LIBRARY. John Travolta played the lead in the movie version.Initially titled "Man, the Endangered Species", Battlefield Earth was first published in 1982 by St. Martin's Press, though all subsequent reprintings have been by Church of Scientology publishing companies Bridge Publications and Galaxy Press. Written in the style of the pulp fiction era (during which Hubbard began his writing career), the novel is a massive work (over 750 pages in hardcover, 1000+ in paperback).
