For Auction I have a Stunning Vase made by The Rookwood Pottery Company of Cincinnati, Ohio. This is the Hard To Find Wax Matte "Fan" Shaped Vase is Wonderfully Hand Painted. The vase stands 5" tall, 5" Wide and 1 13/16" deep, Top Measurement. The foot is oval shaped and is 2 1/2" wide by almost 2" deep. T are beautifully Hand Painted Peonies in a 2-tone Mauve to Dusty Rose Glaze on each side. They are accented by Blue/Green leaves at the Bottom and Top of each Flower. The Flowers rest on a beautiful Mottled Mustard Yellow background with painted green brown mottling to simulate Soil. The Vase is Signed on the Bottom with the Rookwood Pottery Reverse RP and Sunburst Logo along with the Roman Numerals XXVIII, for the year of Manufacture 1928. T are also the Mold Number 2938 and the Artist Cipher letter D through a W. This is the Cipher for Rookwood Artist, Delia Workum. Her work is some of the Hardest to find and I believe I have only had one other vase made by her in 30+ years as a Collector, Dealer. She was born 1904 and died in 1966. This Piece is considered to be in excellent condition as t are no issues to report. Those of you who collect Rookwood Painted Pottery and are the Lucky Winner will Cherish this Gem for Years to Come!
