Spool holder, wood, pin cushion, caddy, vintage. This wooden rooster sewing caddy was hand made about 1935. It has six nails and one dowel to hold spools of thread, two fabric pin cushion 'wings', and a hole in the neck for a scissors. (Spool and scissors shown were used for photography purposes only and are not included.) Rooster is hand painted on both sides in white, red, & black, with a red, white & blue paisley fabric for the cushions (faded). One cushion has four rips (see photo); varnish on rooster is cracked. Size: 11" l. x 4¼" w. x 11" h. A wonderful piece of usable folk art!
