Presented for auction is the LARGEST COMPOTE I have ever come across...standing 9" high...beautifully decorated on the underside with gilded roses, and ruby accents...this antique Early American Pattern Glass Pedestal Compote c.1900 is decorated with an application known as "Goofus". It consists of an embossed pattern moulded in the glass, which is then colored/gilded to accentuate the embossed pattern. Very unique...Very Victorian...and Very Statuesque! The plate area is also quite wide...10 3/8" in diameter. It stands on a classic style pedestal, and has a soft black light glow. It's in EXCELLENT CONDITION...some light overall wear to the gold, and some minor mould roughness on the corners, and two minor flea bites on the inner rim of the base. T are the usual old mould marks from the glassmaking process, like bubbles, swirls/striations and strawmarks...all characteristic of antique glass, which gives each and every piece its own personality! A truly unique addition for Early American Pattern Glass collections...it will make quite a statement on your table! Shipping weight 7 lbs; shipping to Canada is available. Thank you for visiting my auctions; please email with any questions. And be sure to visit seller's other items for MANY MORE ANTIQUE & VINTAGE TREASURES!
