66 pieces of Rose sterling flatware by S. Kirk & Son. Almost as ornate as Repousse. Each piece is marked S. Kirk & Son(see picture). The 66 pieces are used, but not abused, and have a three letter monogram of BSC. The pieces consist of the following: 8 Knives measuring approx. 9" long 8 Forks measuring approx. 7 1/4" long 8 Salad forks measuring approx. 6 1/4" long 8 Teaspoons measuring approx. 5 7/8" long 8 Cream Soup spoons measuring approx. 6" 8 Flat butter spreaders measuring approx. 5 1/2" long 8 Ice cream spoons measuring approx. 5 1/2" long 1 Carving knife measuring approx. 10 1/2" long 1 Carving fork measuring approx 9" long 1 Cake server measuring approx. 10" long 1 Large berry scoop measuring approx. 9 1/4" long 1 Large salad serving fork measuring approx. 9 1/2" long 1 Large salad serving spoon measuring approx. 9 1/4" long 1 Olive or pickle fork measuring approx. 5 3/4" long 1 Cold meat fork measuring approx. 6 1/4" long 1 Gravy/Sauce ladle measuring approx. 7" long 1 Sugar shell measuring approx. 6 1/4" long Total Pieces: 66 The silver weighed approximately 83 troy ounces on my postal scale, if you count the knives as 1 ounce each. An ounce of pure silver is closed at $12.70 on Friday, July 6, 2007. Thus, the silver content of this set of sterling is approximately $975 (calculation = $12.70X .925 purity of sterling X 83 troy ounces), Should appraise for over $2,500 if you get appraisal for insurance purposes. Successful bidder must prepay and add $20 for postage, handling, and insurance. Prefer money order or cashier's check, but do accept Paypal.
