Offering another fabulous piece by Rosenthal! I feel it is both art deco and slightly art nouveau in style, so I called it both. This is top quality work, as are all of Rosenthal's works, and it is truly on par with other top makers of the day, including Goldscheider, Meissen, Nymphenburg, and Royal Dux, just to name a few. It features a beautiful nude maiden crouching down as she is having a drink of water from her cupped hands. She has smooth and beautifully colored skin, and her hair is exquisitely painted. The simplicity and subtlety of this piece make it truly breathtaking! This piece measures 5 3/4 inches (14 1/2 cm) high, and about 6 1/2 inches (16 1/2 cm) wide. This figur is in excellent condition; the only thing to mention is that t are a few very small nibbles to the edge of the base on one side of this piece. At that same side, t appears to be a small area (about 1 inch) which was touched up with gold paint. Please see the pics to get a better idea. These flaws are extremely minor and do not in any way affect the piece. T are no other issues at all. I would say that this piece probably dates to the 1920s or 1930s, based on the Rosenthal stamp.
