I have been selling china for over 20 years & this is about the prettiest set I have ever had. Heavy gold trim on the servers. Also gold beading. Very, very elegant. This auction is for a very elegant & beautiful set of Rosenthal China made in Selb, Germany. The pattern is ~ PASTORALE. ~ The shape/style is called Sanssouci. This "Pastorale" pattern is decorated with "deep pink" colored roses & rose sprays. I would call the background color to be "cream-colored." Scalloped edge. Edge is trimmed with gold encrusted beading. T is an embossed (raised) design in the china itself. This design is made up of fancy scrolls & trellis's. The roses sprays appear to be on the trellis. You get sixty-eight (68) pieces of china for one (1) money. It is a complete service for 8, with a few extras & 6 servers. Included are: 10 - dinner plates 10 1/8 " diameter 8 - salad plates 8 " diameter 8 - bread plates 6 3/8 " diameter 8 - rimmed soup bowls 9 " diameter 8 - fruit bowls 5 1/2 " diameter 10 - saucers 5 13/16 " diameter 10 - cups (decorated on the inside also with rose sprays.) 1 - creamer 1 - covered sugar bowl 1 - double-handled gravy with attached underplate (has 2 pour spouts.) 1 - round covered vegetable bowl 10 1/4 " across including the handles.
