These birds are from a private collection of birds- an antiquue entrepeneur of the 1940's and 1950's who collected them mostly in 1950's- Letter provenance from Worcester and three catalogues with his markings of purchases on catalogues.SPODE ROSENTHAL BAVAVARIA AND MEISSEN, mostly with MARKING ID NUMBERS- and some unmarked ARE ALSO AVAILABLE. NO CHIP IN BEAK #574 ROSENTHAL( SEE ROSENTHAL CATALOGUE)Maker : SELB with number # 574 Dimension: 5 1/2" high and 3" across SELB Germany .ROSENTHALL #574 This bird figurine is RED in COLOR__ The item has the marking underglazed on the bottom side Figurine, Statue Primary Material: Ceramic, Porcelain HADGEMALT- FROM FATHER's estate is this beautiful hard to find bird figurine by Rosenthal, one of the fine porcelain makers in the world! This red colored bird measures 5 1/2" tall .The base has the Rosenthal over Germany mark with Hangemalt underneath. The designers name is probably, F (for Fritz) Heidenreich,who designed figurines in 1930- 1950. I believe this one was made in the 1950's.
