Rosenthal Teller Ernst Lang #'d Edition Mao-Tse Tung Plate
This is an auction on a Rosenthal Teller Ernst Lang #'d Edition Mao-Tse Tung Plate. Individually serial numbered on the back as 4770/5000, this satirical plate of Chairman Mao was designed by Ernst Maria Lang for Rosenthal in 1979. One of a large series of different caricatures released of prominent figures, this plate measures approx. 10" diam., and is in NM-MINT cond., with no apparent damage, defects, or wear. This comes in the original box, which has some wear and scuffing. Unfortunately, the phrase along the edge of the plate is in German, which I am not too up on, but it is, for those of us with a Teutonic tongue: Mao Tse Tung: "Wer Sich Auf Seinem Lorbeer Ausruht, Tragt Ihn Am Falschen Platz". I bet it's supposed to be funny!Ideal for all lovers and collectors of Mao memorabilia, as well as limited plate fanatics!! Check out our other cool stuff!!
