Offered for your consideration this week are 11 wonderful items from Roseville Pottery in highly sought patterns: Baneda, Cosmos (2), Dahlrose, Foxglove, Futura, Imperial II, Ivory II, Orian, and Velmoss Scroll (2). Each is a superb example of the artisanship of the Roseville company. Please check out all these auctions as t is something for everyone, both the new and seasoned collector as well as those interested in resale. Best of all, each of these remarkable examples of Roseville's finest has either no reserve or a far-below-book reasonable reserve. PATTERN: COSMOS VINTAGE: 1940 DESCRIPTION: The excellent mold with high relief and six gorgeous colors make this beauty a truly coveted and rare example of one of Roseville's most popular lines. This large and stunning rose bowl does stand out from the crowd. Just incredible, the piece rings like a bell when tapped. This outstanding example will surely enhance any collection or decor. Photos of this bowl were taken outdoors without a flash. Colors are true to the actual piece. The 4" Cosmos piece (not included in this auction) is t just for size comparison purposes. MOLD NO.: 356-6 DIMENSIONS: 6.5" h. x 8" w.; opening is 4.5" square; circumference is 24" (exclusive of handles). Base diameter is 3.25".MARKS: Roseville U.S.A. 376-6" in relief CONDITION: Just as it came from the factory back in the late 1940's. Piece has no chips, cracks, or repairs whatsoever. The vase rings true when tapped. The sharp mold is second to none that I have ever seen in the Cosmos pattern. Just look at the pics. Exquisite and large! This one is truly a keeper. PRICE GUIDE: Mollring (10th Edition, 2004):$425-$465; Bassett (2nd Edition, 2001): $200-$250; Humphries (19th Edition, 2004): $135-$355; Bomm (1st Edition, 1998): $225-$325; Huxford/Nickel (12th Edition, 2001): $375-$425. Note to Buyer: This mint and unusual Cosmos vase has been double-boxed and securely-packaged so as to prevent damage caused by USPS. Weight of the packaged item is between 3 and 4 lbs. Shipping via Priority Mail costs will be printed on your invoice. Insurance is required; this amount will also be spelled out on your invoice. Seller charges no "handling", "materials", or other fees to the cost of shipping and insurance. Quotes are determined only by weight and what the post office charges me to send the item to you. In the event of damage in transit, seller will facilitate the recouping of your loss by sending you the original insured shipping slip (needed by USPS for processing claim).
