Offered for auction sale is a beautifully styled and crisply molded high-relief huge Jardiniere and Pedestal Set made in Zanesville Ohio by Roseville Pottery in 1928, during their highly desired Middle Period. It is in the Dahlrose Pattern , and it the largest size set made in this pattern, # 614-10". The pattern features a continuous ring of open blossoms and leaves around the upper part of both the jardiniere and pedestal. The background behind these florals is a textured and mottled blend of browns, greens and cream coloring, beneath a soft satiny glaze. The browns blend with a green wash into a Matte Green at the upper and lower rims of both pieces. At the top rim of the jardiniere, t are a pair of Right-Angled Handles in an Arts & Crafts Mission Style. This Pedestal is over 20" high, and rests on a sturdy 12" diameter base. The Jardiniere bowl is 10" high, with an 11 1/4" top rim diameter, and a 10 1/4" top rim diameter inside opening. The jardiniere is 13 1/2" across at its bulbous widest. Together, the Jardiniere/Pedestal Set is 30" tall and weighs almost 30 lbs. Both pieces are in very good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
