Vintage Roseville Pottery , FERELLA Pattern, Footed Bowl , Mottled Brown, Pink, and Blue colors , with Reticulated Openwork Geometric Cutouts and Scalloped Shell-like Motif . Made in Zanesville Ohio in 1930 , during Roseville's highly desired Middle Period . Chalice type body shape. Main body color, outside and inside is a mottled pinkish-brown. Above the openwork rim pattern, the color becomes a mottled dark brown. The footed base color is a mottled dark blue. The entire bowl has a soft satiny glaze. Outstanding features of this very rare piece include its continuous openwork cutouts of rectangles and triangles around the upper body, and its unique "hat-like" cutouts encircling the lower base rim. Between these cutouts, upper and lower, is a continuous "scallop-like shell" relief pattern in greens and yellows . This Footed, Reticulated Bowl is in completely excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, hairlines, crazing, or repairs. It is very clean, inside and out, and appears to have never been used. T are no cracks in any of the thin pottery bands between the openwork "windows". 5 3/4" wide across at its bulbous widest. 5 1/2" top rim diameter, 3" base diameter, and 4 3/8" high. Weighs slightly over 1 lb. See all photos and enlargements below. The many photos show views around all sides, top, bottom, and inside. This footed bowl no longer has its original paper label. Its underside is marked in red crayon, " 21 ", though it most likely was originally marked " 210-4 ". Ferella Footed Bowl 210-4" is listed in the brown color in "Bassett's Roseville Prices, 2nd edition 2001, on page 70, with an estimated value between $375-$450. The Reserve Price on this item is less than half of that listed value. Roseville Ferella is an extremely rare pattern to be found, especially in excellent condition. This great footed, chalice-like bowl would make a beautiful decorative centerpiece bowl to enhance your home and table decor, especially during the upcoming holiday season.
