From the same old barn as the antique clacker I just listed comes this Roseville Matte Green Jardiniere. Nice crackle to the glaze, which is darker than it appears in the photos, and not quite as GREEN . I used a flash to try and show any glaze flaws, but there weren't many---there are some small pops, one of which can be seen in picture 6, and the interior shows some leftover mineral deposits from water. Has a small hand-made flaw on one side, where there appears to be a partial rib in the clay that wasn't smoothed flat before glazing and firing. No chips, cracks or other apologies. Marked on the bottom in blue potters' crayon 462-5 GKX 45 ---462-5 is obviously the shape and size (it measures 5" tall), and the rest could be the glaze combination code. Sits on three little raised feet, each showing wear to their bottoms. Awesome arts and crafts look, from the color right down to the rounded and tapering jardiniere shape. All in all, a nice early piece of matte green art pottery from one of the leaders. Patient high bidders receive a discount from eBay when labels are printed online. It can range anywhere from a few cents to a few bucks, but if you pay before I can invoice you, that discount will not apply. I try to give you the lowest shipping rate available, and shipping is combined whenever possible, but I won't pack cast iron with pottery, so don't even ask!
