This is a Roseville Peony Double Socket Candleholder. It is 5 inches tall and the base is 7 inches wide. It has yellow centered white peonies with green leaves on a Nile Green textured background. It was made by the Roseville Pottery Company of Roseville, Ohio possibly beginning in the late 30s but the pattern definitely appeared in Roseville advertising in 1942. It is marked with Roseville U.S.A. 1153 in relief. The candleholder is pictured in the "Collector's Encyclopedia of Roseville Pottery" Second Series, by Sharon and Bob Huxford at page 136, Row 3, Item 1. It has some very minor crazing but the piece is in otherwise excellent condition with no chips, cracks or mold flaws. I work very hard to correctly describe everything I sell but I am not perfect. I not only check the item, it is checked by a second person. Of all the items I have sold I have made four errors that buyers have communicated to me. In three of those instances the matter was remedied to the buyer’s complete satisfaction. The other one without any previous communication with me left me a neutral Feedback. If you are a successful bidder in any of my auctions and you feel that I have incorrectly represented the item, please contact me before posting Feedback. Shipping charges include insurance either by the postal service or by me depending on the cost of the item.
