Roseville Pottery Middle Period 1936 Brown blending to Orange Pinecone Pattern Huge and Heavy Twig Handled Vase #850-14". Excellent color and condition with very crisp mold, and no chips, cracks, hairlines, crazing, or repairs. A few factory firing pinpoints from the kiln. Background browns blend to oranges. One side twig handle has double branch, and continues along vase side with pinecone and double swooping pine needle sprays. Opposite single twig handle also continues along vase side, again with crisp pinecone and long sweeping pine needle sprays. The vase rim and each twig handle rings clearly. Great Art Deco colors, shape, and design rising from a domed base. 14 1/2" tall, and 9" across at its handle tips. 5 5/8" top diameter, and a 5 1/2" base diameter. See all photos and enlargements below. Die-incised "Roseville 850-14" on its underside, along with a hand incised figure which might be "A". Also a blue crayon "9" or "g", and "2". Listed in Bassett's Roseville Prices, 2nd edition, 2001, on page126 Brown color, with an estimated price of $1200.-$1500.
