GRANDMA'S ROSEVILLE POTTERY APPLE BLOSSOM BASKET # 310 - 10 This exquisite authentic turquoise blue Apple Blossom Basket was produced by Roseville Pottery in Zanesville, Ohio, in 1948. The sole owner was my late beloved grandmother who recently passed away at 93. According to my research, the blue ones are rare and highly desirable due to the fact that this particular color complements the flowers so nicely. Specifications: It measures approximately 11" across at the widest point and stands 7 1/2 " at the highest point. Condition: This piece is in FINE CONDITION on the outside and inside with NO CHIPPING . My late grandmother kept this in a smoke-free environment and it was never touched or handled as long as I can remember. As with any handcrafted piece t are always a few variations in workmanship, however they usually enhance the value and rarity of the piece and prove its authenticity. I make note of them not because they detract from the beauty of the piece, but so that I am being as honest as possible in my description. Although I've bought a few items , I'm new to selling so I want to keep my ratings high by being honest and fair. I hope you will be the same with me. From normal viewing distance this piece appears AS NEW . However, upon very close inspection t are a couple very slight silvery/gray marks that I believe are stray pencil marks left by the craftsman. I did try to gently remove them with a pencil eraser (without damaging the piece), however they seem to be under the glaze. Tfore, they are not very evident unless the light strikes them a certain way. I did not retouch the photographs in any way so as you can see these marks are hardly visible. The handle design is clean with NO WEAR. Slight crazing is evident only on close inspection, which is normal for a piece so old. This faint crazing, while enhancing the aesthetic beauty of the piece. also insures that you are buying an authentic original and not a cheap imitation. The inside is clean with no water stains. I hope you enjoy this lovely basket as much as Grandmother enjoyed it. If only it could talk to remind my family of all the wonderful dinners and lively games of cards we had beneath its home in the china cabinet. Even so it still does...
