Up for bid is a beautiful large Roseville Snowberry Jardiniere. Marked on bottom Roseville USA 1J-8(pic shows). Height is 8 inches, opening is 9 inches from outside edge to outside edge. Green with burnt orange and white berrys and green leaves. I'm sure most looking are familiar with this pattern, nice period design as well. A REAL beauty!! CONDITION - usually when listing I don't account for MINOR flaws or conditions, because that's the condition , nothing major, I am not a appraiser, I have owned several pieces of Roseville pottery before and have been selling in this business for several years. My assessment is Excellent to Very Good on condition. One consideration is this is a large jardinier, I have found the larger pieces(planters) to be harder to find in really good condition. s what I will report. Apparently this was used to place a potted plant in, it looks like it has never been planted in, but does have a water mark inside again that looks like a potted plant was t The bottom is actually clean, but t is a rim of water stain app. 1 in up from the bottom edge uniformly around, no crazing Above the stain and throughout the inside, it is clean. Also on the inside t are 2 craze lines, one extends app. half way around and the other, underneath it extends app. a quarter way around. Minor. THE OUTSIDE - NICE!! To the point, t is some very minor crazing at the bottom of the piece, line crazing, not much, honestly, hard to see, have to manuever it in the light, it's also in a position that it would never be seen displayed, it's minor. T is also a pinhead size, less than pindead size "spot" on the top inside edge, I believe a glaze issue becaue t is another less than pinhead size on the body, I'm SURE a glaze issue, you all know this pottery, it all has it, I'm reporting microscopic issues. AS TO CRACKS, this planter when "thunked" makes a LOUD SOUND!! From my experience, I feel this is not cracked, no muted sound BING!!, but you all know the story, I have not black lighted this item, selling as having a loud sound and as is. To my knowledge and from what I see from CAREFUL inspection t has been no repairs, I see nothing on this piece that shows any evidence of being repaired. BOTTOM LINE - Used with much less than normal wear and tear, I feel excellent for a jardiniere of this size, playing it WAY SAFE is very good. This is a real beautiful Roseville 8 in. jardiniere. Excellent colors and pattern, size, condition, NICE!!! SHIPPING on this item is 35.00 USPS Priority 3 to 5 day service with delivery confirmation, lots of packaging material, handling, double boxed(if possible), heavy item as well, insurance is additional, recommended and will be offered at checkout for this item.
