This amazing and rare Roseville vase is in the strongly art deco style named Orian and in the rarest and most valuable of the Orian colors - red. The vase, shape #737 makes quite a presence, not so much by its more than 7" height, but by its more than 8" width and 25" circumference, as well as by the tiered form and wonderful aqua blue contrast color found only as a hint on the handles and fully on the interior of the vase. The final color is the dark brown to black accent stripes around the mouth, a standard for Orian vases. NOTE ON THE COLOR - the photos were taken just before sunset and the colors are not quite true, as t is too much yellow infused. The true color of the red is a rich cranberry or raspberry red, while the aqua is much bluer than it appears in the pictures. The vase is in top condition, with NO chips, NO cracks, NO repairs, and only nearly invisible crazing - the kind you only see if you look at a specific angle and in a specific bright light. In normal viewing, it is not even discernable at all! T is not even a single glaze pop or glaze skip, while the depth of the glaze varies wonderfully all around the vase. The finish is wonderfully smooth and silky, close to, but not quite a gloss finish. Like all Orian, this one is unmarked and the underside of the foot is unglazed. Like all my auctions, this one is starting at just $.99 and with NO RESERVE! Insurance is mandatory, but the first $100 is included with the shipping and handling charge. Shipping to Canada about $10 higher, but only at my cost.
