This is an antique ?1905? Umbrella stand in EXCELLENT condition. T are no chips cracks or hairlines. Crazing is present over entire piece. I love Roseville but I'm NO expert at it. I don't even know what to call the pattern. If someone does or has more info, please email me at . The glaze, Im fairly sure, is majolica. It stands 21" and has been in my family since before my father was born (1927) He can't ever remember not seeing it nor w it came from. The paper (postage stamp size) label fascinates me. It says: "ROSEVILLE POTTERY CO. ZANESVILLE O. T are 3 catagories on the stamp (No., Style and Price). Hand written in pencil No. reads: 65041. Style reads: B and Price is blank. To the upper left is an impressed 119. Winner pays actual postage (NO HANDLING FEES). Personal checks must clear. We accept PAYPAL. T is NO RESERVE. Dear billw9,Your umbrella stand IS Roseville. The number is correct-719. It is not rare to see a sloppy impressed number as these were mass-produced. Notice how the first number differs from the second? It is a poorly written 7. You are correct in that it is a Majolica or" Blended" as the Co. refered to them. This is pictured in Bassett's Understanding Roseville Pottery,page 15. The only difference is the color. They were made in many. Bassett valued it,back in 2002 at $650.00. It is probably worth more now?? Hope this helps-good luck....Jeff PS.
