Up for bids: an unrestored ROSEWOOD / BENTWOOD & LEATHER FALCON ARMCHAIR , designed by SIGURD RESSELL for the Norwegian VATNE MOBLER company. This design dates to 1970, and was originally issued with either a chrome or bent rosewood frame. The chrome was discontinued after just a few years due to rising manufacturing costs (though it is currently being reproduced, or so I understand), and bent rosewood was the only option from 1974 until the design was discontinued in the 1990s. Strong and lightweight, elegant and extremely comfortable, quite presentable anddisplayable - I have been using this very chair in my own living room for sometime now, and it always receives very flattering attention. This chair is very s olid and serviceable, in excellent condition. Leather upper cushion and armrests are in fantastic shape, with almost no detectable wear. Canvas backing shows light fading/discoloration to front edge and has two small wear spots on upper back (near points w the frame contacts it, predictably enough), but is very sound - none of the worn areas will be visible under ordinary circumstances, anyway. Wood frame pieces show only light wear to finish of exposed surfaces. Wood is solid and strong, free from breaks or cracks of any kind.
