One of two paintings that I am listing this week by the well listed Cape Cod and Provincetown modernist Ross Moffett ANA (1888 - 1971.) Moffett was trained as a muralist and continued to paint in that slightly abstracted modernist style throughout his career. He is well known for his Provincetown views. This painting of a slightly abstracted view to a lighthouse is in watercolor and ink on artist's board. The board measures approx. 25 1/2 x 20in. The edges and corners of the board are in rough shape as pictured. The surface of the paper has scattered dings and soiling. The watercolor is signed Moffett in pencil lower right. The back with the inscription in pen "Ross Moffett." Guaranteed to be as described. If found to be significantly not as described within 7 days of receipt the purchase price will be refunded.
