Offering for auction an older piece of ROWE POTTERY STONEWARE with a great COBALT BLUE DECORATION on the front. The handle ears also have cobalt blue which are slotted. The crock is marked with an incised stamp which reads....HANDMADE ROWE POTTERY WORKS CAMBRIDGE WIS. 1989. Almost 20 years old. To the right of the marking it is stamped KZ...possibly the makers initials. To the right of the right handle is a large number 3 in cobalt blue. The bottom is marked SF-3. Please notice the potters handmarking which are great and highly visable. This piece is LARGE and stands approx. 9-1/2" tall...the base is approx. 5-1/8" across and the opening is approx. 4-3/8" across the top....at the widest point it measures approx. 5-1/2". No cracks, no dings, no flea bites and no repairs. This is heavy piece and well made, not like those skimpy imposters. Great detailing with the large heart and finger strokes to create the leaves.
