~ Very Rare ~Antique Rowland & Marsellus Co Staffordshire England Plate Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882) Measuring 10.75" inches this wonderful transferware plate is a rare find is due to the fact of it's color. Almost any transferware, baring the stamp of Rowland and Marsellus Co. that you will find anywhere, will be in blue and white, not in brown! Rowland & Marsellus were importers, wholesalers and retailers, especially of 'souvenir' wares operating out of New York, c.1893 -1938. This plate features lovers on the front yet on the back, is part of a humorous poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. It is in very good condition, however there is a surface crack on the back.
