Signed in blue sharpie on a beautiful piece of artwork created in 1991 (based on the artist's signature -- the same year the piece was signed.) Roy is widely considered to have been one of the greatest catchers in the history of the game, Campanella played for the Brooklyn Dodgers during the 1940s and 1950s and was one of the pioneers in breaking the color barrier in Major League Baseball. He was a 3-time National League MVP in 1951, 1953 and 1955 and an 8-time National League All-Star before his career was cut short in 1958 when he was paralyzed in an automobile accident. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1969. He passed away in 1993, 2 years after signing this piece. ABOUT MY AUTOGRAPHS I am gradually liquidating my extensive collection of sports autographs and memorabilia (primarily baseball) mostly acquired from 1994-2014. If not in-person, my collecting has been done via private signings, auctions, and occasional retail purchases. In-person collecting has been mostly in spring training, at major league and minor league games, at the Arizona Fall League or other winter leagues, and occasionally at events such as trade shows, the annual B.A.T. Dinner or Cooperstown weekends, etc. If you want to know specifically where/when the listed autograph was obtained (if not already stated) please let me know and I will do my best to recollect. Of course feel free to ask me any questions about any of my items. Of course the biggest question anyone should have as a buyer is - WHAT ABOUT THE AUTHENTICITY?? Certainly eBay seems to have made great strides in protecting collectors from fakes and forgeries and I want to ensure I comply with and support eBay's policies and guidelines. My autographs fall into two categories: 1) Those that came with a COA /LOA when acquired (usually at auction or private signing). When that is the case, I have uploaded any applicable images. Many are from nationally recognized authentication houses. 2) Those that I acquired in-person and don't have a previously existing COA/LOA. I have pondered what to do about this as obviously if these items are acquired by me and the only LOA is from me then what does that really mean?
