Stunning bronzed catchers mitt is a Roy Campanella Personal Model and is likely a glove that he used as the perennial Most Valuable Player of the Brooklyn Dodgers. Presented to him by the Wilson Sporting Goods Company it is mounted on a handsome wood plaque that measures 13x13. The bottom is adorned with a luxurious brass plate which reads, To Roy Campanella In Appreciation of his Unselfish Contribution to Baseball Mr. W.P. Holmes, President Wilson Sporting Goods Co. An absolutely magnificent piece that is equal in both historical importance and aesthetic beauty. This is basically a career Gold Glove Award and is of incredible historical importance. Comes with a photograph of Campanella wearing a glove just like this one (unbronzed of course!). Comes with letter of authenticity from his wife Roxie Campanella.
