Roy Jones Jr was Ring Magazine's "Fighter of the Year" in 1994 and was voted the "Fighter of the Decade" in 1999 by the Boxing Writers Association of America. Pound for pound, t is no doubt that Roy Jones Jr. was one of the best boxers in history. In 1993, he won his first IBF title in the middleweight category and has since won numerous fights and titles on his journey through the weight classes. He worked his way up to the heavyweight division in 2003, after years in the light-heavyweight division, and he took the heavyweight title in 2003 against John Ruiz, which to him was the ultimate achievement in boxing. Vinny Paz won his first world title in 1987. He won his second world title in 1991 when he dominated junior middleweight champion Gilbert Dele. Weeks after the Dele fight, Vinny Paz broke his neck in a serious automobile accident. Paz was told that he would never fight again, and he spent three months in a hospital bed. When doctors told Paz he would never fight again they obviously did not know the heart of a true champion.
