As lovely as you will find one is this sweet cup and saucer set by " ROYAL ALBERT " in the LADIES Series "CYNTHIA" is the name of this beauty and she is ELEGANT in every way. Probably dating to the mid 1960s the cup on this set rest on a raised scalloped and gilt lined low pedestal which supports the cup bowl which rises in 8 wide scallops to give the cup a height at the heavily gilded rim of just under 3 ". The diameter across the bowl mouth is approximately 3 1 /2 " at the widest. The interior of the bowl has a large Lilac spray in blue and rose on one side, The exterior has been finished in a deep black to show the amazing brilliance of these sprays which run from just beneath the heavily gilded rim to the bowls' base. Rich green leaves dispersed about. Please note the handle with it's lovely acanthus leaf on the face rather than the normal top rest position. Excellent little twist from the designer. The saucer again just as brilliant on it's own measures 5 1/ 2 " in diameter and has 12 lovely large scallops around it's rim. . In excellent condition nothing we can see to fault and no loss to gilding. Combining purchases reduces overall shipping costs.
