This is an absolutely beautiful antique three handled loving cup from Royal Arch Masons Chapter No. 43 Lancaster, Pa. It was produced in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of this chapter in 1909. President James Buchanan was a member of this lodge. The cup is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. It measures 7 1/2" high, 4 1/4" across the opening, and 3 1/2" across the base. Each handle protrudes 1 3/4" from the body. The handles are about 4" in length. Made of white vitreous china with extensive gold decoration (24 K?) on the handles, base, rim, and three panels. Between each set of handles is a decorated panel. The main panel depicts an archway with a keystone over steps leading to the Ark of the Covenant and reads, "100th Anniversary Royal Arch Chapter No. 43 1809 1909 R. A. M. Lancaster, Pa." The next panel depicts a gold keystone with a circle with the number 43 in the center of the circle. The letters H, T, W, S, S, T, K, S surround the number 43. The third panel depicts a gold triangle with a Triple Tau symbol in the center. The mark on the base reads, "Thomas Maddock's Son's Co. Trenton NJ." The cup was purchased many years ago at an auction in Lancaster, PA. This is an important artifact for any Masonic collector. NO RESERVE. BUY WITH CONFIDENCE!
