Offered for your collection a rare set of Royal Arch Masonry aprons belonging to Washington Naval Chapter #6 in Washington, DC, chartered in 1867. These are actual Masonic aprons, NOT reproductions, that were likely worn by men living and working in Washington, D.C. in the mid 1900's, that have gone on to become some of America's greatest leaders in politics, business, and law.
This historic set is completed with aprons for the High Priest, King, Scribe, Secretary, Treasurer, Captain of the Host, Principal Sojourner, Royal Arch Captain, and Three Masters of the Veils. They are made of white leather/lambskin with red velvet and gold ribbon trim, with each jewel embroidered on leather.
Materials show wear consistent with a vintage age and are described as carefully as possible with aprons showing wear consistent with their age, including a natural drying of the leather with some cracking and scuffing to various areas of the velvet as well. The tie cords (belts) are all intact on each apron but worn in places on some aprons. Overall, the set is usable and would make a fine collectors set.
