Royal Bayreuth Rose Tapestry Chocolate Set consisting of the chocolate pot and four demitasse cups and saucers. Blue stamp on all pieces shows that these were made after 1902 and before 1919 by this old company which began in 1794 and that they were made at the Teetau Bavaria (West Germany) plant. The pattern was made over pink and white roses by pressing fabric against the damp surface of the porcelain. All pieces are in excellent condition. No nicks or chips. Color is in good condition and the gold trim is in good condition. The pot is 8 1/2" tall to the top of the finial and 4 1/2" in Diameter at widest point. The demitasse cups are 3 1/8" Tall and 2 1/4" in diameter at top. Each holds 4 oz. The saucers are 4 1/2" in diameter and do not have an indent . This set was given as a wedding present in 1911 according to note in pot. We will include with this purchase at no charge: two cups and a saucer shown in pictures 9-12 which have been repaired. The two cups have been well repaired and the only noticeable thing is the glue has darkened through the years. Otherwise the repair is hardly noticeable. The saucer has been poorly repaired.
