Royal Blue Chalet Art Glass Bowl

This handmade glass bowl is in a Royal Blue color, a heavy dark blue, with a hint of purple color.

This Chalet glass bowl is a combination of clear colorless and a clear blue color. The inner surface of the bowl is the blue color. The outer surface of the bowl is covered with heavy spirals of clear glass. The end-point of each of the swirls is a pair of points, one smaller point at the end of the swirl and a second longer point right next to this smaller point. The six points are all a blue color.

The tips of the bowl extend to 5 1/2 or 6 1/2 inches from the base to the tips, depending on whether the measurement is to the short or long tips. Across the bowl from tip to tip the measurement is about 10 inches.

Although this bowl is not marked it was manufactured by Chalet. This is a known Chalet design. A bowl in a similar design and marked Chalet was recently sold by this seller.

This bowl has no cracks. The surface of the bowl has no chips. T are a few minor chips at the bottom edge of the bowl that are only visible when the bowl is turned over. Chips like these do sometimes occur when the bottom of the bowl is ground down to create a flat surface.

Two views of the bowl are presented in the photo below. On the left the view is from the side showing the large spiral rings on the underside and the points at the top of the bowl. The view at the right was taken from above and provides a view of the array of points at the top of the bowl.

Special Note --- Shipping and handling ----- It is very important to ask for an estimate of shipping cost, as the cost for this piece can range from $18 US to over $70 US depending on shipping destination. Art glass in general, and specifically art glass with long slender extensions, or wings requires special consideration in packing. Safety of the purchase in transit is the primary consideration in packing.

The estimated cost of this Chalet bowl ranges from $21 US to $23 US for destinations within Canada, $35 US to $37 US for United States destinations, and about $$70 US and more for shipping outside Canada and the US.

The method of shipping, and as a result the cost of shipping will be at the discretion of the buyer. Canada Post does provide different services dependent on the weight and size of a package. To the best of seller's ability, the item will be packaged to fall into the lowest cost category, if at all possible. All items are insured up to $100 Canadian . Insurance beyond that provided by the shipping agent is optional.
