Holmden & Company Our Auction Item: Royal Copenhagen Blue Fluted Frog on a Lily Pad Dish
I am not well versed in Royal Copenhagen pieces, so I snagged this general information from the web for you: "The Royal Copenhagen Porcelain factory was founded by Frantz Heinrich Müller in 1775 in Copenhagen, Denmark. It had taken him years to perfect his technique for manufacturing hard paste porcelain. His company trademark of three wavy lines represents the three straits found in Denmark, the Øresund, Store Bælt and Lille Bælt." A collector of Royal Copenhagen could tell you that the backstamp dates this darling piece between 1992 and 1999. The frog is precious, so I had to have him, when I found him in a gift shop at that Kahler Hotel, in Rochester Minnesota. The dish (soap dish, pin dish or just a darling dish) is of the finest quality in excellent condition. No chips cracks or crazing, of course. The lily pad dish measures approx. 4 - 1/4" X 3 - 3/4" wide. The lily pad cradles a delicate Blue Fluted flower with tendril, while the 1" frog wears a bit of blue fluted vegetation on his back (to match his blue peepers). Gosh he's cute as all get out. Holmden & Company ships FOB USPS Domestic Priority or FOB USPS International Priority. We will entertain alternative means of shipping for larger items. PLEASE NOTICE: All international addresses must be verified by PayPal. We will make every effort to ship internationally, as long as the shipping service allows shipping to that location. Please do not bid internationally, unless you first confirm that your destination is acceptable to our shipping service, USPS.
