Up for bid are two (2) Royal Copenhagen Blue Fluted Half Lace 7 oz. Tea Cups. Piece number 525, first quality as signified by the RC green logo and 3 blue wavy lines. Cup measures 4" across and Saucer measures 6". In perfect condition with no chips, cracks, scratches or stains on the surface. The bottom of the saucers have some very light marks along the bottom rims. If purchased new, each cup/saucer sells for approximately $155 through fine china retailers. FYI: 10 years ago I inherited an entire Royal Copenhagen Blue Fluted Half Lace dinnerware collection when my great-aunt passed away. She purchased the dinnerware in the 1960s on a trip to Europe and only used them a handful of times. The entire collection is in near perfect condition, although some pieces have a few tiny marks (nothing major) on the bottom from being displayed on shelves in her china cabinet. I have never had any use for them. They have been boxed and stored in a closet for far too many years so I've decided to put the entire collection up for auction. I'm hoping these lovely dishes find their way to others looking to add to their Royal Copenhagen. Please check back over the next several weeks for new listings of individual pieces. All items will be shipped by Priority Mail with delivery confirmation and insurance. I will adjust shipping on multiple items won to reduce shipping charges if I can pack the pieces in one box (please wait to be invoiced for shipping charges). Please feel free to contact me with any questions prior to bidding as ALL SALES ARE FINAL. U.S. Bidders ONLY. Payment must be received within 5 days of end of auction. I came upon these facts while doing some research on the pattern: The Blue Fluted pattern is the epitome of fine porcelain and was given its name because the surface is fluted like a mussel shell. All pieces are framed by a lace border and all lids are topped with a snail's shell. The central flower in the pattern is a chrysanthemum. Since its introduction in the 1770s it has been painted freehand by specially trained painters. It takes 1,197 brush strokes to paint one plate. All pieces are molded and assembled by hand as well as hand glazed to ensure the finest results. Thanks for looking!
