This plate commemorates the 750th anniversary of the Battle of Lyndanisse in which King Valdemar II of Denmark defeated the Estonians. The battle took place on June 12, 1219 and this plate was issued in 1969. A pivotal moment in the battle came when the Danes were losing the battle and out of the sky fell the national flag. Folklore goes on to say they won the battle. This moment is depicted on the plate. On the back is the Royal Copenhagen porcelain factory mark along with a handpainted NS and four wavy lines -- the logo of the factory. The plate is 9 inches across and in perfect condition with no chips, cracks, etc. This will cost $10.95 to mail anywhere in the Continental US. The handling fee of $1 covers delivery confirmation.
