ROYAL COPENHAGEN FIGURINE #3356 "BOY WITH UMBRELLA" This Figurine was sculptured by Ada Bonfils who worked at the Royal Copenhagen Factory from 1916 until her death. It was in production until 1996 but it is relatively uncommon on the secondary market now. This figurine depicts a chubby-faced lad of some seven or eight years old fully equipped for the worst weather. It is a model full of interest in which the boy is looking at the heavens to see if he needs to unfold the umbrella that he straddles. The grey-blue sou'wester he wears has its brim folded back to reveal a short lock of his brown hair and it more than covers the collar of his deep-blue mackintosh which is buttoned across and belted tightly at the waist. The umbrella is a mushroom-colored with blue-grey decoration at the edge of the canopy and it looks rather large for such a small boy. This figurine is 7" high and 3" Wide and stands on a wide base making the piece stable and robust. It is in "Perefect Condition" with no chips, scratches, cracks, or stains. It is NOT a factory "Second". It has the usual Royal Copenhagen Backstamp on its underbase;the Royal Crown,Denmark, The three waves, #3556, and the initials oy the painter "FR" . THIS FIGURINE WOULD SELL FOR $450.00 IF YOU COULD FIND IT!
