Listed here is a RoyalCopenhagen porcelain dish from the famous Flora Danica service. It is painted with a living plant showing roots, stem, leaves and yellow flowers and there is a gilt rim. I have looked on the web and all the Flora Danica pieces that I have seen give the three wavy blue lines and the Royal Copenhagen backstamp. As you can see on this dish only the three wavy blue lines are present and there is a black painted number and monogram at the base. I honestly don’t know how old this dish is but I’m pretty confident that it is a good 19 th century example made before the addition of the Royal Copenhagen backstamp. If true, then this would be a rare example of Flora Danica. The dish is in good condition with no hairlines or cracks. There is some wear to the gilt edge and what looks like a small touch up of gilt on a small surface chip. All in all this is a wonderful dish. Just wish I knew more about it. Please look at the photos and email if your have any enquiries. Where possible I will always combine purchases to reduce postage.
