Royal Copenhagen Mallard Drake- older piece - Model # 1934 - Factory First, no repairs, crazing or chips! ZERO condition issues! Mint condition. - A very realistic depiction of a Mallard duck! A nice, realistic piece by artist Peter Herold for Royal Copenhagen. Here we find the common male Mallard, in a feeding pose with his neck outstretched. This piece has realistic coloration and subtle details- it sits on the base that is formed by the body of the bird itself. The head, feathering, wings and tail are executed in off white, creams, ash grey, blues and grey browns, with greenish head in the under glazing that Royal Copenhagen is so famous for, although this example has darker coloring that others I have had- see pics. This piece is stable on its base, and is well sculpted, overall the piece is nice and would make a fantastic addition to any Royal Copenhagen or Bing & Grondahl collection, especially those who collect birds. The date code on the bottom indicates the piece was made in or around 1966 - Marked with the three traditional blue wavy lines, model number and artist mark and Royal Copenhagen crown mark. Most recent book value is around $210 USD. This has been part of my Royal Copenhagen and Bing & Grondahl collection for many years. Please watch for my other auctions as I will be listing more B&G and Royal Copenhagen
