Up for auction os a Royal Copenhagen of Fredricksberg, Denmark (1775 to present), Porcelain Drake Duck Figurine, perhaps dated 1934 and in Pristine Mint, Like New Condition. What a spectacular find this (I believe to be) Royal Copenhagen Duck made of fine porcelain is. This duck figurine has a beautiful and excellent color combination plus some fantastic modeling to create this porcelain masterpiece. Royal Copenhagen wares are some of the finest you will ever find and this drake is no exception. This figurine has been incredibly frozen in time. T are no chips or cracks, t is no glaze crazing and t is no staining. I say perhaps dated 1934 based on what I was able to find in a photographic book of pottery marks. This book has actual color photos of the marks used by domestic and foreign potteries, but t is not much history or interpretation with the photos. T was a mark in this book which looked like this mark and the numbers were 1920 something (I do not have the book myself). The mark was dated as being from the same year as the number and the number on the mark in the book was in the same place as the number on this mark. Based on what I saw and if the information is accurate, this figurine could be 73 years old. Regardless of whatever this ducks actual age is, you have to agree it looks as good as the day it left the factory. I read more
